The Arches Theatre: The Taming Of The Shrew

I've so far introduced you to two theatre companies bringing fantastic productions to the Arches Theatre this summer ...

It's the Etcetera Theatre Company (ETC) who will be staging the classic Shakespeare comedy, The Taming of the Shrew, from 22nd - 24th August. This local theatre company based in and around Milton Keynes, have considerable experience of producing plays including, 'A bunch of amateurs' written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman, Monty Python's 'Spamalot' and Agatha Christies 'Witness of the Prosecution.'

"They also perform a fabulous interactive
murder mystery theatre!"

The August performance, directed by Steve Brigden, "will be based in the 1930s, a period of economic hardship and deprivation, but also a great period for radical and free thinking." ETC is 'aiming for a modern, lively comedy which tells a story about love.

The focus will be on a couple that are totally besotted with each other and struggle in conforming to the roles which society expects of them. As their relationship evolves, they play to the gallery amidst a background of charade and shenanigans. If you head over to their website"} you will find the play's full synopsis and character breakdown.

If you haven't seen this theatre company in action before, then you must. ETC will be announcing the cast very soon so if you are local, watch out for some familiar names and faces!
