Theatre Is Still Very Much Alive At The Arches

Kicking the Arches weekend off on Friday was the incredible Alistair Brammer and his concert called The Magic of Musical Theatre. And what a magical night of musicals it was ...

He regaled us with beautifully sung songs from Jesus Christ Superstar and Phantom of the Opera to Chess and Les Misérables, plus funny stories in between about his life, this really was a night to remember. His special guest and local girl, Nikki Bentley, with her powerhouse voice, joined her West End co-star on stage to sing solos and duet hit songs from Wicked the Musical - which they are both returning to next month.

"The perfect evening for musical theatre fans!"

The 'game was afoot' on Saturday when the brilliant British Touring Shakespeare came to The Arches with their stage adaptation of 'The Hounds of the Baskervilles' and performed to two sell-out audiences. Full of murder, mystery and intrigue, Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson, and the rest of the talented cast gave a fantastic performance of this classic tale and kept our audiences guessing until the very end. This was their debut on our outside stage, and we do hope they will return.

Still to come this August:

- Friday 20th - ABBA SENSATION debut at our outdoor theatre. Their performance as SOLD OUT.
- Saturday 21st - The Wet Mariners return for their fourth year with their intimate stage adaptation of Twelfth Night. The matinee is SOLD OUT and a handful of tickets remain for the evening show at 7pm.
- Sunday 22nd - DOT Production debut at The Arches with their family friendly stage production of Robin Hood at 1pm and the classic tale of Jane Eyre at 5pm.
- Thursday 26th - Saturday 28th - Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy return with their adaptation of 'Ripping Yarns' written by Michael Palin and Terry Jones of Monty Python Fame. All proceeds will be going to The National Brain Appeal's Rare Dementia Support Fund, with kind thanks to Alison, wife of the late Terry Jones.

These are the last production at The Arches for 2021. So, get your tickets today at https://www.thearchestheatre.co.uk and experience the wonder of outdoor theatre with us this summer.
