The Arches Theatre: Enjoy Pre-Show Picnics And Prosecco!

Having just celebrated World Gin Day on Saturday (sensibly of course) and getting ready to enjoy International Picnic Day on Thursday, it has got us thinking about what we'll be adding to our picnic baskets this August for our first outdoor production at The Arches Theatre .. ...

Many of you have joined us in recent years to pop open a bottle of Prosecco and enjoy a homemade picnic with friends before the shows started. We welcome you to do that again this year, so you can relax with a chilled glass of something and really soak up the atmosphere.

"Obviously, it will look a little different this year, but we still want to give you the full impact of a fantastic outdoor theatre experience!"

If you don't fancy making your own sandwiches, why not try one of the great cafes in Olney such as Sandwich Land on the Olney High Street? Alex and his team have a long list of delicious baguettes, pastries and cakes to tempt you with. It hasn't been confirmed if we will have a bar selling draught beer, wine and soft drinks, like we did last year. We will keep you updated on this.

If you choose not to join us for a picnic, you can still bring drinks and snacks to the performance. But just like any theatre, please make sure your food isn't too pungent or noisy to open! It's our priority to make this a great experience for everyone and memorable for all the right reasons.

"Whatever you decide to do, just come along and enjoy your alfresco summer's evening with us and come back again next year!"

All we need to do now is have our fingers crossed that we can still go ahead with The Wet Mariners production of 'The Merchant of Venice' on 15th August. Please note that BBQs, camping stoves or any form of fire are not permitted at the venue.

And as always, please drink responsibly.
