If you have a child aged between 8 and 14 who has an interest in filmmaking or would like to try something new, then give them the gift of Sparks Olney this Christmas ...
Sparks Olney is part of Sparks Film and Media Arts, the UK's leading provider of film and media activities for children and young people. Our sessions help to inspire young people by giving them opportunities to experience all aspects of creating a film and allowing them to step into the roles you'll find on a real film set.
From scriptwriting and directing shots to camera work and editing, and everything in between, our students try it all as well as starring on screen. A fantastic opportunity for those with a passion for film!
Our action-packed and hands-on workshops get children and teenagers working on their own productions and exploring new themes and techniques. We work in small groups, so everyone gets a chance to have their say and develop ideas.
Our current theme for this term is The Art of Perception. We're excited about this theme, as it has really challenged our students visually, technically, and creatively. They have worked tremendously together and I, along with our expert teaching team, are extremely proud of how far they have come in such a short space of time. We are still in the filming stages and will be moving to editing very soon. We can't wait to share our students' masterpiece with you all.
If you are interested in signing a young person up to our workshops, you can either register for our January term, which starts from Sunday 9th January 2022 or for our week-long Easter workshop, which runs from Monday 8th to Friday 12th April.
The theme for our January is 'Snapshot Story Telling' and our Easter workshop theme is Superhero and Mutants. Which one will you choose? Why not both? Our weekly workshops take place at The Olney Centre, Olney every Sunday at 10am - 12pm.
You can register your child's place via our website www.sparksarts.co.uk/locations/olney.
