I am very excited to let you know that our popular Sparks Olney filmmaking holiday camp returns this August. The Sparks team and I are giving young people between the ages of 9 and 15, the opportunity to join us for a full week of film-making masterclasses during the summer holidays ...
Students will delve into every stage of the film-making process, learning both the creative and technical aspects, including pitching, storyboarding, scriptwriting, directing shots, camera operation, film editing and so much more. By the end of the week, our young film crew will have written, filmed, starred in and edited their very own movie.
They will even be shooting on location at The Arches Theatre, an outdoor theatre in Clifton Reynes. It is very much a hands-on learning experience that gives young people a chance to try something new, boost their confidence, gain new skills and meet other young people with similar interests.
Sparks Olney runs weekly Sunday sessions at East Street Community Centre. We will be back after half-term from the 12th of June, so why not join us for a free taster session? Come along and see if you like it (we're sure you will) and then perhaps sign yourself up for the term-time session or our film-making holiday camp.
